About
Tasmanian born songstress Ange Boxall landed on the shores of England some ten years ago, with little more than a backpack and her Maton guitar, Pearl.
Planning to stay no longer than a year, the rich mix of European destinations, wonderful people and a diverse music scene have fueled the fire and nurtured a successful career.
However, not fully content, the draw from across the pond has been strong. Trips to the USA have been frequent and a blossoming love affair with Nashville's 'Music City' has seen collaborations with successful artists such as JD Souther, Jim Lauderdale and The Wrights, as heard on her new album, Writing Letters.

A rant:
I often lie in bed thinking of everyone that I should write to. Thank you's, love letters, protests, apologies. It keeps me awake. They're never the same in the morning when I go write them. They're not as good. Many of them are left unwritten. That leads to guilt. Guilt is a rotten thing, I try not to suffer from it! But I do suffer from foot-in-mouth disease on regular occasions. It's quite normal for Sagittarians, so I'm told.
Writing Letters:
It's a cycle. Life is one big cycle. I love round things but I often try to veer off the cycle as often as possible. In fact, if you drive too fast I will get the urge to lean over and spin the wheel. I know the result would be bad so please don't drive too fast. I have the same feeling when standing on a cliff. I want to jump. Well, I don't want to, I just get the urge to. I did once, I bungee jumped. It was way too scary!
I'm actually happy-go-lucky by nature. I usually see the bright side to everything. Some people ask "how can I always be so happy?" "Am I ever upset?" Of course. Just not too often. I write. I create. I get a lot of it out. Some of it is never to be read! Sometimes I stream amazing things and wonder where it came from.
I'm not sure if I believe in spirits but I am spiritual. I like good people and I like the idea of Karma. Instant karma can be cool.
I love to travel, by planes, boats, on foot or inside my head. I like to smell roses. I love roses. I love the form and the colours. I love Saturdays. Best day of the week. I like Fridays too, I get that Friday feeling. I love summer. I love the sun on my skin but notice that I can't sit in it for as long these days. I used to lie and play in the sun for hours as a kid. I still love it, it makes everything seem better. But then I like the change of seasons, too. I like the change of colours. I love birds. I watch them and listen to them. I love birdsong. I like to whistle. I'm quite a good whistler.
I see melodies in patterns and colours as much as I hear them. I learn songs by drawing strange patterns. I wonder what Mozart would have made of me? I think it's sad not to like birds. Perhaps people have had bad experiences. I once blew a big bubble with my bubble gum and a bird flew right over me and pooped on it! Ha, I had to put it in the bin even though it wasn't out of flavour.
I have fond childhood memories. I like to have fun. I'm still a child like that. I like to skip down the road and hold hands with people. I don't think it's pathetic. It makes me feel good. Beer makes you feel good. My Dad likes beer, a lot. He likes to grow vegetables, make fishing nets and chop wood. I go fishing with him. I catch lots every time. I make out that I'm better than him.
My Mum was a very talented hair-brush singer. Her favourite possession was her record player. Her deaf brother liked it too. Sadly, he was run over at aged 8. She is lovely and raised me and my big sisters to talk. We sure do. She thinks she may have encouraged us a little too much. Mum and I are both into creative visualisation, it's amazing, like magic! My Mum's first job was as a dress-maker. I love clothes. I go through stages of wearing only jeans and then only dresses, both nearly always with my cowboy boots :)
